The Seagulls put 4 past the Canaries to secure a victory for the first time since November. Brighton’s attacking quality and defensive solidity allowed the team to gain a convincing win and book their place into the next round of the fa cup.

The first 10 minutes Norwich looked quite exciting and carried a bit of threat, with Forson hitting the post early on. The Seagulls couldn’t quite keep possession of the ball and struggled to progress forward in the early stages, but eased themselves into the game and started to create lots of chances. Veltman had the ball and crossed to the back post where Georginio leaped to head Albion into the lead establishing their dominance. He carried on his composed nature in front of goal when Minteh slipped a pass into him where he was able to lash it into the net just before the break putting the Seagulls in a comfortable position going into the second half.

The Albion continued to carry this threat and got their rewards, Enciso’s pressure allowed him to win the ball back high up the pitch, and then showed great class with an excellent finish from a very tight angle. This goal was really important for him and hopefully really boosted his confidence to get him back to the levels he was at before his injury, he has shown glimpses of this in his recent appearances this season and with more consistency he can be a really useful asset in our attacking prowess.

Solly March made his comeback much to the fans’ delight against Brentford a few weeks ago and he was able to make another appearance against Norwich where he really established his comeback. The ball fell to him and he placed it perfectly left footed into the top right hand corner to put the game out of sight for the Canaries. The whole team quickly showed their ecstasy and congratulations for Solly showing he’s a valued member amongst the group and they all know how hard he’s worked to get onto the pitch to score his first goal since August 2023.

McConville came on and put in a solid defensive display and saw the clean sheet over the line, which was nice to see another one of our academy prospects step up and look the part of this high quality team. Welbeck also made an appearance for his return off the bench which is a real boost for Albion in the upcoming fixtures. The fans showed their mass appreciation for the Albion icon Shane Duffy when he came on and he thanked the fans for his warm reception, Duffy and Dunk is a partnership which will be in fond memories of Brighton fans for a long time- giving us the platform for progression.

Hopefully we can bring the confidence from that win into the next few games in the Premier League, over the past few weeks performances have definitely improved, despite injuries we have enough depth to continue to show promising performances. Which can hopefully turn into wins and more points on the board and looking to be more in contention for the European race, as I think we are more than capable to push for it.
